On shooting
Peter joined the army when he was eighteen, and for several months he was taught how to be a good soldier. He did quite well in everything except shooting.
One day he and his friends were practicing their shooting quite well except peter. After he had shot the target nine times and had not hit it once, the officer was very angry and said,“you’re quite hopeless, peter! Don't; waster your last bullet too! Go behind that wall and shoot yourself with it!”
Peter felt ashamed.He went behind the wall, and a few seconds later the officer and the other young soldiers heard the sound of a shoot.
“Heavens!” the officer said, “has that foolish man really shot himself?” He ran behind the wall anxiously, but peter was all rigth, “I’m sorry, sir!” he said, “but I missed again.”

彼得18岁时参军，头几个月他一直学习如何做一个好的士兵。除了射击，他一切做得都很好。一天，他和他的朋友们正在练习射击，除了彼得他们都射击得很好。他打靶打了九次，可一次也没打中，教官十分生气，说“彼得，你没有希望了！不要再浪费最后一颗子弹了！去墙后面，用它打自己吧！”
