A Parrot’s Answer
A boy goes to a pet shop to buy a parrot. There he sees a parrot with a red string tied to its left leg and a green string tied to its right leg.
He asked the owner the signficance of the strings.
“Well, this is a highly trained parrot. If you pull the red strings he speaks French: if you pull the green string he speaks german, “replies the shopkeeper.
“And what happens if I pull both the strings?” the curious shopper inquires.
“I fall off my perch, you fool!” sceeches the parrot.
鹦鹉的回答
一男孩来到一宠物店，要买一只鹦鹉。在那儿，他看到一只鹦鹉在脚上拴着一条红色的带子，右脚拴着一条绿色的带子。
他问店主这两条带子是做什么的。
店主回答道：“啊，这是一只受过高级训练的鹦鹉。如果你拉红色的带子，它说法语；如果你拉绿色的带子，它讲德语。“
我同时拉两条带子，会怎样呢？”好奇的顾客问道。
“我会从枝条上面掉下来，你这个傻瓜。”鹦鹉尖叫道。
A Tasty Meal
A tourist in Africa sent his mother on exotic bird for her birthday. When he got back to the States, he called her.“Hi，, Mom,” he said.” How’d you like the bird I gave you?”
“It was delicious.”
“Youate the bird!’ the guy sjroeked.” He was very expensive. He could talk!”
“Well, if he was so smart,” replied the mother,“Why didn’t he say something?”
一顿美餐
一位在旅行的旅客送给了他母亲一只奇特动人的鸟作为生日礼物。他回到美国后，打电话问道：“妈妈，你好你喜欢我送你的那只鸟吗？”
“太好吃了！”
“您把它吃了？！”小伙子惊叫了起来。“那只鸟可贵了，它还会说话呢。”“噢，如果它照你说的那么聪明的话，它为什么没告诉我呀？”母亲回答说。
