A Proud question
For years my husband taught a course in western civilization at ferrum college in Virginia. He prided himself on the essay questions in his final exams.
One such question was , “it is the year2002 . you are sitting in your living room , reading the newspaper ,when your son comes in and asks, ‘what was liberalism and what happened to it?’ how do you answer him ?”
One student turn in a very short answer, “I don’t know . go and ask your mother.”

我丈夫多年来在弗吉尼亚的费鲁姆学员教授西方文化课程，他为他所出的期末的问答题感到自豪。
其中以个问题是：“现在是2002年，你正坐在起居室里看报纸，这时你的儿子过来问：‘什么是自由主义，自由主义一般会怎么样？’你如何回答他呢？”
一个学生交上了一个非常简短的答案：“我不知道，问你妈妈去。”
