Was Gargantua and Pantagruel a Plagiarized Novel?
I am a pretty good doctor, and used to be a priest. But what I count an honor most in my life is that I spent 20 years in writing a novel, Gargantua and Pantagruel. I am the French writer—Rabelais.

Gargantua and Pantagruel was very interesting. Gugu simply couldn’t drop it and after finishing it he still kept thinking about it. Wait, somebody said this novel was a plagiarized one. Was that true? Why? Gugu took this chance to pay a visit to the author himself. He’s got to get the answer.
(G=Gugu R=Rabelais)
G: Hi, master! I love your Gargantua and Pantagruel very much.
R: Thank you! The novel was recorganized from the stories I heard from the farmers. I didn't expect it would be so popular, so then I went on to write its continuation.
G: Oh, I see. Interesting! But I heard some accused you of plagiarism. What do you think?
R: Uh… it was a reasonable accusstion, because, you know, I did borrow much from others.
G: But it’s not that serious! Your book was full of idioms, mottos, jokes and quips. It was an excellent job. No wonder so many people love it!
R: I didn't take it to heart. After all it is written with my own style.
G: Yeah. And a plagiarized novel can't be so perfect. It remains popular even in modern times. It seems that it has stood the test of time.
R: I’m so glad to hear it.
