Why Did Tao Yuanming Live in Reclusion
“While picking asters neath the Eastern fence, my gaze upon the Southern mountain rests”—my ideal life is like this. Many people long for fame and wealth, but I’d rather give them up. Because they are as ephemeral as smoke and clouds.

Gugu was sick of the noisy and complicated urban life. He missed those happy old times when he was living in the countryside. “Is there any other person seeing eye to eye with me?” Gugu then thought of the great poet-Tao Yuanming in the Eastern Jin Dynasty.
(G=Gugu T=Tan Yuanming)
G: Hello, Mr. Tao! I’m your new neighbor.
T: Oh? Are you coming here to get away from the flashy social life? Just like me?
G: Uh…you are only half right. Actually I’m from the future.
T: Oh? How is your life nowadays?
G: Well, polluted air and annoying noises are everywhere. Plus, everybody is as busy as a bee.
T: Is that so? That’s awful. You know what? I came here to live in reclusion because I couldn’t get used to the official circle full of lies and intrigues.
G: Wise choice. Look! How beautiful here is! I’ve got to take more pictures.
T: But living in the country also means poverty. You’d better prepare yourself for that.
G: It doesn't matter. I’m sure I would be happy with green foods and fresh air every day.
