Before the desk
Today is a holiday, Sunday. When I woke up at six, it occurred to me that the weather outside was fine and I could go out playing all day. But then, I saw the books on my desk and I remembered that some readings to do. So, there was nothing to do but study. Oh well, I said, here goes another day of studying. I picked up my book and skimmed through the pages. Then I took a piece of paper and pencil and started writing my schedule for the day. Most probably I would not follow the schedule but I needed it to force me to sit in front of my desk.
In one sitting I was able to finish two chapters of my history book. It was about American history. Then I took a break to stretch my legs and do a little bit of exercise. I went to the kitchen and drank a glass of milk. Mom was busy preparing for lunch. The smell of food made me hungry. Mom said I’d better wait till everything was cooked or else I would ruin my appetite. So I went back to my books. Later in the day I did my Mathematics homework. This took me a longer time. But finally I was able to finish everything. Then I left my things on the table and went to watch some TV.

书桌前
今天是假日，星期日。六点钟起床的时候，我发现外面天气很好，可以整天在外面玩。然而，我看见书桌上的书，想起来还有书要读。因此，只有读书啦！噢，又是一个读书天。我拿起书本，草草翻了翻看，然后拿起纸笔，开始写下一天的时间表。我很可能不会去遵照时间表办事，但我却需要它来强迫我坐在书桌前。
我一口气读了两章历史书，有关美国史的。然后我休息了一会儿，来伸伸腿，做些简单的运动。我跑到厨房喝了杯牛奶。妈妈正忙着做午饭，食物的香味使我饿得要命。妈妈叫我最好等到一切都准备好再说，免得搞坏胃口。所以我又跑去读我的书。后来我做了数学作业，花了不少时间。但我终于可以完成所有的事了。然后我把东西留在桌上，跑去看一会电视。
