A: I’m sorry, but we can’t let you on this flight. Your US entry visa has expired.
对不起，我们不能让人登机，你的美国入境签证已经过期了。
P: Can’t I just get a new visa in Los Angeles? 我不能在洛杉矶办理一个新的签证吗？
A: I’m afraid not. You have to apply from outside the US.恐怕不能，你必须在美国境外申请签证。
如果使用了just这个词，就可以在向某人询问或者说什么时使语气变得很客气。
如果要说的话会使对方感到不愉快，我们可以用Ｉ’m afraid not 这种表达而是不简单地说no,这样可以缓和语气。
OMissed Commection 错过转机
P: I just got in from Tokyo, and I ‘ve missed my connection to Chicago. Is there a seat available on the next flight?
我刚从东京来，错过了到芝加哥的班机。下一班机有空位吗？
A: One moment., please I’ll see if there’s a seat in business class.
清稍等。我查一下商务舱是否还有座位。
P: Look, I have to be in Chicago by ten. I don’t have to sit in business class. It there’s a seat in economy. I’ll take it.
我必须１０点之前到芝加哥。我不一定坐商务舱，如果经济舱有位子也可以。
