PHEFIXES：VERBS & THEIR OPPOSITES  动词及其反义词

在动词中也有单词可以加上的前缀变为反义词，虽然这类单词很少：

  do"undo     做"不做           tie"untie  系上"解开                   agree"disagree  同意"反对

  like"dislike  喜欢"不喜欢       

例句：You can’t undo your mistake-what’s done is done. 难道不是你犯的错吗？做了就是做了。

      Please don’t tie the rope so tight –I can’t untie it. 请不要把绳系那么紧，我角不开。

Most of the committee agreed with the solution. But John disagreed.

大多数委员都同意这个解决办法，但是约翰不同意。

I like you a lot, but I dislike the way you treat your dog.

我很喜欢你，但是我不喜欢你对待狗的方式。

 

 PREFIXS：‘OVER-’&‘UNDER-’    前缀over-和under-

前缀除了可以构成反义词，还有其他的修饰作用。这样的前缀有over-,意思是“（程度）过头了”。它用在动词尤其是由动词的过去分词变成的形容词的前面：

  overestimate 高估      overcooked  (做饭)火候大的       ovepaid 支出过多的       overact  夸张地表演

under-和over-的意思相反，也就是“（程度）不够“的意思。这个前缀也是使用在动词尤其是由动词的分词变成的形容词的前面：

understimate  低估        undertcooked  欠火候的         underpaid  支出过低的       underact  未尽力地表演

 

 PREFIXES：’RE-‘   前缀re-

re经常放在动词的前面。它有两个意思，比较锪是“再一次”， 也有”恢复原本“的意思：

  appear "reappear 出现"两次出现       apply"reappear  申请"两次申请        consider"reconsider "重新考虑

marry"remarry   结婚"再婚           pay"repay      支付"再次支付        claim"reclaim 声明"再次声明

例如：

I applied for that job ages ago, but they’ve readvertised it now, so I thinkl I’ll reapply.我很多年前申请过那个职位，但是他们现在又登广告招聘，所以我想再申请一次。

I’ve considered your offer and decided to reject it. 我考虑过你的提议，但是决定不采纳。

I would ask you to reconsider. 我希望你能够重新考虑。

She’s been married once b efore, and she’s sworn she will never remarry. 她已经结过一次婚了，发誓再也不会结婚了。

Hw paid for her coc ert ticket, and she repaid him the following week.他替她付了音乐会的票，下个星期她为他付费。
