PAULA’S REQUEST Paula的请求
Jack,Pau和Jenny三个人在起居室里谈话。
Jenny Do you have any homework to do, Paula?
Paula No, I’ve done it.
Jenny Oh, Oh, good.
Paula Daddy?
Jack Yes?
Paula Can I learn to play a musical instrument?
Jack What about your flute?
Paula I can’t play that.
Jack If you had practised more, you would have learned to sure.
Jack Mmm.
Jenny Which instrument would you like to learm?
Paula The piano.
Jack Where would we put a piano? If I had known we had a pianist in the family, I would have rented a bigger house!
Paula Oh, Daddy!
Jenny If you bought a keyboard instead of a piano, you wouldn’t need so much space. And it would be cheaper, too.
Jack Maybe. I’ll think about it. It’s your bedtime now, Paula.
Paula OK. Night, Dad. Night-night, Jenny.
Jack Night, Paula.
Jenny Night-night.
Paula回到卧室了。
Jack Do you think she would learn to play the piano, jenny?
Jenny Well, when I was paula’s age, I used to get bored all the time. I think it I had learned to play a musical instrument at her
age, I woulddn’t have been so bored.
Jack Yes, maybe. But we must find a good teacher for her. I started to learn to play the guitar, but my te4acher was awful. If I’d had a better teacher, I might not have given up.
Jenny I didn’t know that you played the guitar.
Jack I don’t really. How can we find a good piano teacher?
Jenny Well, one of the students in my class is a music teacher. He has a keyboard, and know he gives music lessons. If you like, I’ll ask him to come roand give paula a trial lesson.
Jack Oh, that would be great.
