ON THE TRAIN  在火车上
Jack, Jenny和Paula三人正在去海边。
Ticket Clerk  Yes, please?
Jack         Two adults and a child to Blackpool, please.
Ticket Clerk   Sings or return?
Jack         Round... Er, return, please.
Ticket Clerk  That’s £44, please.
Jack         There you are.
Ticket Clerk  Thank you. Here are your tickets. The train leaves from Platform 1. Change at Preston.
Jack         Thank you.
Announcer   The train now standing at platform 1 is the 8:34 service to preston.
三人上了火车。
Paula        Can I sit near the window?
Jenny        Of course you can.
Jack         Well, it shouldn’t be as bad in Blackpool as it was the last time we went.
Jenny        The last time?
Jack         Oh, of course, you didn’t come with us, did you?
Jenny        No, That must have bee3n the weekend I spent on the farm.
Jack         Oh, yes.
Jenny        What was wrong with Blackpool the last time you went?
Jack         Well, it was a holiday weekend. The place was so crowded we couldn’t find anywhere to park the car.We had to drive to another resort and take a taxi back.
Jenny        Oh, dear.
Paula        And we couldn’t get into the amusement  park, because it was full.
Jenny        Oh, no.
Jenny        Oh, no.
Jack         And even worse, we weren’t able to find table in any restaurant. Everywhere was fully booked!
Jenny        Well, I’m sure it will be better this time.
             For one thing, I’ve brought lots of sandwiches, so if the restaurants are full.
             We can have a picnic on the beach!
Jack         Can we do that anyway- even if the

Jack   No, we didn’t.
Janny   What should we do first, go for a swim. Sunbathe or have something to eat?
Jack    I think we should explore those tide pools over there.
Paula   Yes, great.
        What could be in them, Daddy/
Jack     Well, you can sometimes find crabs in tide pools.
Jenny    And you might find a starfish.
Paula   Wom! I’m going to take my shoes and aocks off and go wading.
Jenny   Good idea.
Paula   Did you bring my bucket, Jenny?
Jenny   No, I couldn’t find it.
Paula   Oh, dear.
Jenny   But I was able to find this little net.
Paula    Oh, great! Brr! The water’s could.
Jack     Yes, sea water can be very cold at this time of the year.
Paula    what’s that, Jenny? Is it a starfish?
Jenny    Yes, it is.
Jack     And there’s a crab, look!
Paula    Where?
Jenny   It’s just gone under that rock.
Paula   Agh!
Jenny   What’s the matter?
Paula    I’ve just stepped on a jellyfish!
Jack    Oh, no!I”ll help you out.
Paula   Can a jellyfish sting kill you?
Jack    Not the jellyfish you get here, no.
Jenny   Where is the jellyfish, Paula?
Paula   There.
Jenny   Yes, I’m sure.
Paula   What is it?
Jenny   It’s seaweed.
Paula    Oh!
