★slip本是“溜走、滑落”的意思；tongue是“舌头”的意思。Made a slip of the tongue是指“没有经过思考或无意中说错了话（say something carelessly）”。在日常生活中，很多人不愿向他人致歉，也用这句当“借口”。如：Please don’t get about what I have said. I just made a slip of the tongue.（请不要介意我所说的话，我只是无意中说错了话。）
