a heart of gold
无论古今中外，‘黄金“代表”贵重“。所以中文里有”一诺千金“的说法，英文里则有”用黄金打造的心“（ a heart of gold）.“用黄金打造的心”意谓“高贵的心“，但在实际使用时，则偏重它善良的一面，所以，拥有一颗黄金打造的心”(have a heart of gold) 也就是“ 为人心地很善良“的意思。
★ Alice isn’t all that pretty, but she has a heart of gold.
艾丽丝长得不是那么漂亮，可是心地很善良。
★ Dara never believes anything bad about anyone. She has a heart of pure gold.
多拉从来不会认为别人坏。她有一颗非常的心。
有时候我们也可以用“介词词组”with a heart of gold 来代替“动词词组”have of gold 来代替“动名词词组”have a heart of gold。“介词词组”可以放在银川市后面来修饰这个名词。
★ If there ever was a man with a heart of gold, it’s Ralph. He’s forever going out of his way to help other people.
如果真有那么一个心地善良的人，那就是拉尔夫。他永远不嫌麻烦去帮助别人。
to have ones’ heart in the right place心存善意（的人）
中文里，我们常听到劝人“心存善意”之类的话，在里则说成“把心放在正确的地方”(have one’s heart in the right place).
★ I admit that Emily shouldn’t have spoken to your father about your absence from school, but she had her heart in the right place. She thought she was helping you.我承认艾米丽不该把你缺课的事告诉你父亲，但她是出于善意，认为这样是在帮助你。
To have one’s heart in one’s mouth吓坏了
半夜里觉得口很渴，垣摸黑进厨房喝水，把抬头竟看到窗户外有一双发亮的眼睛，这时你会不会被吓坏？有些人可能会尖叫出来，后来才发现原来只是一只猫罢了。这种情况在英文里就是“你的心跑到你的嘴里”（You have your heart in your mouth.或Your heart is in your mouth.）也可以改成 with one’s heart in one’s mouth当“副词词组”用，修饰前面的动词。
★ Tom’s heart was in his mouth as he opened the door to the haunted house.
当汤姆打开鬼屋的门时，他害怕得要死。
★ Tom moved toward the strange sounds with his heart in his mouth.
汤姆心惊胆跳地走近那奇怪的声音。
