Lesson
Trying to clear security at Kimpo International Airport in Seoul, South Korea, I kept setting off the metal detector. Even after I emptied my pockets, the alarm still buzzed. Finally, I remembered that my shoes had metal shanks. I pointed to my shoes, and agent metioned for me to take them off. I did so, and I walked successfully through the metal detector.
As I was putting my shoes on, I looked around. Everyone behind me inline had their shoes in their hand.

在韩国首尔的金浦国际机场,尽管我想出境,但出境处的金属探测器却响了起来。我掏空了口袋,警铃仍响个不停。最后我想起来我的鞋底有一部分是金属。我指了指我的鞋,安检人员示意我把鞋子脱下来。我照办之后,很顺利地通过了安检。
就在我穿鞋的时候,我环视了一下四周,惊奇地发现我身后的人们站成一排,每人手上都提着鞋子。
