8nail
If you see two of your classmates fighting tooth and nail, you must stop them at once. Other wise, at least one of them would be hurt.
Nail also means a thin pointed piece of metal for hammering into sentence:”peter is as hard as nail;s.” We all hope that we are as strong and healthy as he is.
Then, if I say you hjav hit the nail on the head, I do not mean that you have done something cruel. I mean that you have said exactly the right thing.

The phrase hand over fist is interesting. isn’t it? It has both “hand”and “fist” in it. It means fast and in large amounts”.Suppose your uncle keeps a store. When business is very good., his store may make money hand over fist. On the contrary, if business is very bad, it may lose money hand over fist.

The shin is the bony front part of the leg between the knee and the ankle. It plays an important role in waliking, running ,jumping and climbing. At a football match, you can see football players wear shin-guards to protect their shin-bones.
Shin can be a verb, too. If you have a little brother to look after, you should warm him againstshinning up trees or shinning over walls, for it is dangerous for him to do so.

Where part of the body is called calf? It is the fleshy back part of the leg between the knee and the ankle. The muscles in your calves may e sore after climbing, running or walking for a long time. Althletes often loosen the muscles in their cavels by pressing and rubbing them.
Most people wear socks which cover the ankle and the lower part of the leg. But some people, especially football players in a match, wear socks which cover the calf. Similarly, some girls like miniskirts, others prefer calflength skirts.

To convey the idea “from head to foot”. English people can say from top to toe. But Chinese people don’t.
Some people turn their toes out when they walk. Some turn their toes in >Are you one iof them?
When foced with danger, we must be alert and ready for action, that is to say, we muct be on our toes.
