当你确实有一段工作上的空白期时，在面试前要先想好如何应答，一般面试官都会在此提问。实事求是表达曾经离职原因以及长时间不工作的原因，并且让面试官去除困扰，证明自己的能力没有因长时间不工作而削减。

对于职业生涯中的“空白”，最好不要胡编乱造，切忌刻意遮掩，因为所有的谎言都会不攻自破的，如果被求职单位发现有不诚实求职的言行，必将影响到求职者最终的求职录取。你只要提前做好回答的准备就行了，你不但应该回答你再这段时间里干了什么，而且要说明经过了这段空白期你还能够胜任当前的工作。你所要做的就是消除对方对你的担心，让面试官相信在这段空白期你的工作能力不但没有被削弱反而增强了，特别要突出你与所应聘职位相关的优势。俗话说“凡事预则立，不预则废”，做好这方面的准备是很有必要的。

1.       I did not seek job after my first failure for the examinations for the postgraduates in the fourth year of my college life in order to take the preparation for another one in the next year . After I failed it again this year , I’m determined to give up the preparation for a job I like .

我大四考研失败后没有找工作，而是继续为下一年的研究生考试做准备，今年又没有考取研究生我就决心放弃考研，来找一份自己喜欢的工作。

2.       I had worked as an executive secretary for six years . But I did not see any chance of promotion for lower degree . So I enrolled in a study program for MBA.

因为学历不够高，我做了六年的行政秘书却一直没有得到升职，于是我考取了工商管理学硕士。

3． I had a car accident on the way to work . I have received several surgical operations and rehabilitation training . Now I have recovered my health .

    我在一次上班的路上出了车祸，我在医院做了几次手术，又经过了康复训练，现在已经没有大碍了。

4， The reason for leaving my present employment is because they are closing their office in the face of economic slowdown .

     本人离职的原因，系因该公司即将倒闭。

5.   My daughter enrolled in Michigan University in America , so I resigned my job and accompanied her in America for 4 years .

     我的女儿考取了美国密歇根大学，所以我辞掉了工作去陪读。

6.   I took care of my child for three years till he went to the kindergarten . Now it’s time for me to return to my position in this industry .

     三年里，我在家照顾孩子，现在孩子已经上了幼儿园。现在该是我重返工作岗位的时

     侯了。

7.    I’m desirous of leaving the last job in order to gain more experience in exporting business .

     本人想在出口贸易方面获得更多经验，故辞去上一份工作。

8.    This job does not match my specialty .

      这个工作与我的专业不对口。

9.    My reason for leaving the company is that I wish to get into the advertising business .

      本人离职的原因是想在广告业有所发展。

10.   I left my last position to be with my aged mother and cared for her during her illness .

     我为照顾年迈生病的母亲而离职。

match 表示和……相配，和……相称的意思。等同于fit . 例如： The color of the shirt does not match that of the tie .衬衫的颜色与领带不相配。
