I. Ask and answer the following questions in pairs.
1. What did Mr. Smith think of the price which had been offered by Mr. Zhang?
2. Why did Mr. Smith think the price which had been offered by Mr. Zhang?
3. Why Mr. Zhang very well prepared for what Mr. Smith had said about the price?
4. Did Mr. Zhang agree with Mr. Smith on the question of price?

2.       We wish to inform you that this commodity is one of our principal exports, and shall be glad to cooperate with you in this respect.
3.       Should you once try this new product, you will find it of advantage to you.
4.       We assure you that full cooperation will be given to your representatives during our negotiations, and earnestly expect to conclude some business with your firm.
5.       This is our established practice that the goods be inspected after arrival at our port.
6.       While we appreciate your efforts in pushing the sale of our products, we regret very much that we are not in a position to offer you the desired quality, owing to excessive demand.
