I. Since this is a sample order and less than $10,000 in value, will you kindly make your payment terms easily for us?
  --What do you suggest then?
  Since it is a large order, will you allow us a discount?
  --What do you suggest then?
  Since there is no ready stock, we are sorry we can’t accept your order at present.
--That ‘s too bad.
Since you can’t reduce your price, we’ll have to buy elsewhere.
--Still you are welcome when never you think you can do better.
II. As far I know, you did sometimes agree to such terms, didn’t you?
It’s true we sometimes accepted D/A payment terms.
As far as we know, you sometimes give an 8% commission to your agents.
--Yes. That’s an exceptional case.
As far as I can remember, we have done business with each other for more than twenty years.
--and I’m glad to say that we have cooperated very well.
As far as I can see, there’s only one way out.
--Will you point it out to me, please?
III. But it was only under very rate circumstances that we accepted D/A.
Then how about D/P at sight?
It was only under very rate circumstances that we gave an 8% commission.
--Then how about 5%?
  It is on this subject that we approach you today in the hope of doing business with you.

IV. It will involve great expense to open an L/C with a bank in our country.
Moreover, it doesn’t pay for an order of such small amount.

It will cost you less to have the goods insured in China.

Our products are of top quality. As a result, they are sold at a higher price.
--There might be something in what you say.
Trade between us must be mutually beneficial so that it can develop.
--there might be something in what you say.
V. As far regular orders in future, could you agree to time L/C?
  --Sorry, we insist on sight L/ C for regular orders.
As far payment, we require an irrevocable L/C available by draft at sight.
--Do you accept other payment terms such as D/A or D/P?
As for the sample you require, we shall send it to you immediately.
--Thank you far your kind cooperation.
