Letters of Farewell （送别信/告别信）
送别和告别一般是用口头表达的，但也有一书信方式表达的。有的告别则在口头表达后再以书信表达。这类书信要在离别前或离别后不久写出。有的告别信是在回程的飞机上或火车上写的。
正规的送别信或告别信比较简短，用词严谨。私人之间则不限长短，不拘形式。这类书信要求用词亲切，表达出依依惜别之情。送别信或告别信一般包括三个内容：
1． 表示惜别之情。
2． 回顾过去相处时取得的成就和建立的友谊。
向对方表示良好的祝愿

Dear Mr. Green,
I am so sorry to be unable to see off you and your wife. After 5 years of friendship and especially our close friendship over the last 2 years I am personally very sad to see you leave China.
However, I know it is time you went home and rejoined your family, they must be happy to enjoy a family reunion. I hope one day to meet them and in the meanwhile we shall keep in touch with you as soon as you resume your work at your new post.
With very good wishes for the future and thanks for what you have done for us.
