USING ‘DID’ FOR EMPHASIS  使用did表示强调

和现在时用do或does表示强调一样，过去时可以用did表示强调：

What’s a great party! I did enjoy it.多好的聚会啊！ 我真的喜欢。

I did try to help him, but he wouldn’t let me. 我确实想去帮他，但是他不让我帮。

The bride did look beautiful,didn’t she?这个新娘看起来很漂亮，不是吗？

反对某人的话时，可以用这种表示强调的看看下面的对话：

Man    It’s a shame that you didn’t enjoy the party.

Woman  But I did enjoy it.

Man    Then wyh didn’t you dance/

Woman  I did dance. I danced with everybody except you!

 

MULTI-WORD VERBS:WITH’AHEAD’

ahead的基本意思是“在前面”、“向前”、“前方”：

Be careful, captain, there are rocks ahead.船长，小心，前面有岩石。

I think there is a village ahead. 我想前面有一个村子。

用作表示动作的副词时，还可以表示“事先”、“提前”的意思：

Send someone ahead to warm them of our amival. 派人过去告诉他们我们要到了。

Schts rode ahead to check for danger.侦察兵骑马到前面检查是否有危险。

ahead常和plan.think,look,lie, get,go等动词一起使用：

Before we dicide what do,we must look ahead.

Don’t just think about today, plan ahead.不要光顾眼前，看远点儿。
