Tong: Is this your first visit to the fair?

Pandy: That’s right. And also my first visit to China. The purpose of my coming here is to establish business relations with you.

Tong: I’m so delighted to have made your acquaintance, Mr. Pandy. May I know the main products you deal in?

Pandy: Glassware. I’ve been in this line for almost 30 years. In the past I used to

import Glassware from European countries. Now I wish to buy from China, as I hear you do business with all countries, big or small, on equal basis.

Tong: It’s very nice of you to say so. In fact, it is our desire to trade with all countries in the world. As you know, each country has to import the commodities it does not produce. On the other hand, it has to export the products it produces sp as to earn foreign exchange to pay for the imported

      goods. In this sense, China is no exception. We wish to develop trade with all countries, big or small.

Pandy: You said it. Mr. Tong.

 Tong: And our foreign trade policy is to do business with merchants of various

      countries on the basis of equality and mutual benefit.

Pandy: I quite believe so. I’m sure when trading with you, I can expect a fair…

 Tong: Fair play, if you want to say the word .We always honor the contract and keep our promise.

Pandy: I met a lot of businessmen on my way here. They all spoke highly of your commercial integrity. I think I can rely on your cooperation in future

      dealings, can’t I?

Tong: Sure. We’ll do our best to cooperate with you.
