英文俚语——Sunday driver
Sunday 在英语中是“周日，星期天”的意思。那么“Sunday driver”的字面意思是“周末驾驶员”。通常情况下，星期天是不上班的，可以慢慢开车。所以在俚语中，把“Sunday driver”的意思引申为“驾驶生手”。例如：I wish I could get around this guy in front of me; he is going too slow and must be a Sunday driver.（我真希望我能超过前面那辆车，那人得太慢了，肯定是个生手。）
到了一个陌生的城市，你未必熟悉哪里的地铁系统，如果有工作人员，可以问问：How much is the fare?（车费多少？）以及：What should I do with the token?（我该怎么用这个代币呢？）
在一些城市，你可以投币买卡，然后刷卡进站乘坐地铁，但还有一些城市可以直接投币进站。所以如果当别人告诉你：You put it in the slot at the turnstile and then push the turnstile to get into the platform.（您把它投入旋转栅门的缝槽里，然后推动旋转栅门就可以进入站台了。）不要以为自己听错了。
如果你对进站的方式不是很清楚，请教了别人。这时候你又担心出站也同样麻烦，就可以说：By the way, how can I get out of the platform after I get off the train?（顺便问一下，我下车后怎么出站呢？）
可能你会有这样的疑问，Do I have to pay an additional fare to change trains?（换乘地铁还要付费吗？）那么你不需要担心的，因为现在很多城市地铁换乘时，是不需要再次买票的。
等待的时光总是有点难熬的，尤其是你赶时间的时候。与其东张西望盼着地铁快点到来，还不如问问工作人员：How frequent is this subway service?（这班地铁多长时间来一次？）
