Get close to Yoga 走进瑜伽

 

Yoga is derived from the world yoke which means union or joining. Hence, Yoga id literally the joining together of the finite self and the infinite self.

 The finite self is defined as the actual physical body and the experiences that we have physically. Everyone can relate to the physical body because it is a real entity that can be seen and touched.

 Next, let`s talk about the infinite self. This is the inner self-the higher self-the spiritual self.

 Many people associate the spiritual self with religion and this is a common misconception. The spiritual self does not have anything to do with religion. Yoga is not a religion. Yoga accepts people of all religion, whether they are Christian, Jewish, Agnostic, etc. Not all people who practice Yoga belong to a religion, and not all the people who belong to a religion practice Yoga.

 Yoga provides you with the means to connect to your infinite body. Most people just visualize Yoga as a workout, however, it is much more than that. Yoga positions (asanas )are Justas good for the body as for the mind (neurological system ) as well as the metabolism (endocrine system ).

 Asanas follow one after the other in a specific way. In some Yoga paths, the teachers should not modify the sequence, but let them be carried out as they were originally designed. The goal is to direct the flow of energy and circulation to different areas of the body. This allow you to prepare the body for meditation, the last step in the Yoga path. It is also a means to obtain ultimate bliss (Nirvana ).

 The combination of breath exercises (pranayama). Yoga positions (asanas), mudras (hands positions), bhandas (body locks ), and meditatin, comprise the practice of Yoga.

 Yoga provides the skills necessary to connect mind, body, and soul. In today`s world, we are brought up with how to deal with the external world, but most rarely touch base on the inner world.

Yoga will teach you how your body works, how to breathe properly and how to use of these techniques for your own benefit. This will enable you to understand and relate the mind and body together instead of separately. Yoga provides you with the tools necessary to quiet the mind so that you can access the natural state of oneness.

我们所熟知的瑜伽,不仅仅是一种简单的运动,而是在哲学体系指导下的运动体系。它通过提升自身意识,从而帮助人们充分发挥潜能。瑜伽是一种古老而易于掌握的方法,通过提高人们生理、心理、情感和精神方面的能力,从而达到身体、心灵与精神和谐统一的运动形式。

 

漫谈瑜伽的历史

 Every has their own idea of what Yoga is. Some believe it to be an Eastern religion, while others view it as a strenuous workout.

Neither perception is entirely true because Yoga is comprised of many separate entities. Most of us know the 21st century version of Yoga, but we may not fully understand the intentions of those who created Yoga many, many years ago. If more people fully knew the foundation of Yoga-from beginning to the present-many might be more inclined to take up the practice.

One misconception of Yoga is that this historical practice dates back to the beginning of human civilization. In truth, the evidence of Yoga poses illustrated on rocks shows us that Yoga was developed close to the 3000 B.C. however, academics suspect that Yoga`s roots began in Shamanism during the Stone Age. This is thought because of the similarties between Shamanism and Yoga. Both practices focused on the health and well-being of humans, while inserting certain religious ideals within the customs that were intended to reach a broad range of humans. When first invented, Yogic rituals were directed towards entire communities rather then used as a means of self improvement. Yoga`s history can be divided into four time periods, including the Vedic Period, the Pre-Classical Period, and finally the Post-Classical Period.

The first period, titled the Vedic Period, is defined by the holy writings of Brahmanism called the Vedas, which set the tone for present-day Hinduism. The Vedas was a compilation of worship songs that recognized an almighty power and encompassed the most ancient teachings of Yoga. Even today, the lessons taught from the Vedas are recognized by the customs and functions that allow the mind to broaden. The Vedic people welcomed rishis (shamans) and Vedic Yogis to instruct them on how to live in order to meet the standards of divinity and togetherness that the Vedas set forth. Rishis also had the power to view the paramount actuality by means of spiritual customs. Yogis felt that they could best express themselves by living in a quiet, secluded place close to nature. Therefore, they established their domiciles in forests.

起源于印度、距今有5000多年历史的瑜伽,被人们称为“世界的瑰宝”。在经历了前古典时期、古典时期、后古典时期、现代时期的发展后,历史悠久的瑜伽收到世界各国人士的喜爱,成为在世界范围内广泛传播的一项省心锻炼修习法。

Research shows that yoga helps to control or relieve back pain, headache, stress, anxiety, chronic fatigue and other disorders. Besides, yoga can improve flexibility, strength and concentration.

研究显示,瑜伽能帮助控制或是减轻背痛、头痛、压力、烦躁、性疲劳和其他疾病。此外,瑜伽还能提升柔软度、力量、意志力。

As a mind-body discipline that improve self-awareness, yoga and help with weight loss and eating disorders. And because it promotes relaxation, it aids sleep and digestion.

作为一种增进自我认知的身心训练方式,瑜伽可帮助减重和治疗饮食失调,也因为它能帮助你放松,所以对睡眠和消化也有帮助。

Technically, yoga is not a religion; it is a method that can be used to pursue their own goals.

严格来说,瑜伽并不是宗教;它是任何人都可以使用的方法,用来追求个人目标。
