在美国生活，平时难免会给其他州的朋友或者国内的亲戚朋友寄些东西。首先说说信封的主要事项。由于不同邮局的要求不同，所以地址等位置的填写也会不同，但大体内容是一样的。收件人记忆寄信人的地址、姓名、邮编、电话都需要写上。邮寄重要信件或物品时，一般用双语，先写一遍英文，之后是中文，但最重要的是完成填写后，一定要把最终目的地用英文和中文写在醒目的地方。一般情况下平均一周时间可到达。由于不同地方邮费标准不同，查阅相关邮局网站即可，美国邮政局的网址：http://www.usps.com/ 。一般经常旅游的朋友可以去收集美国不同城市的邮戳，邮局会有专门的地方免费盖戳，另外专门用来收集这些邮戳的册子，邮局也有售。联合国大楼的地下邮局可以制作含有自己大头像的邮票，之后可以寄给家人，很有纪念意义。另外景成旅游的朋友会明白，最珍贵的不是将一张空白的明信片带回国去，而是从美国的当地寄回家里，这样上面会有每个地方的邮件专用邮戳，若干年后你会觉得这些十分珍贵。
